Comment: The holotype is in the BMNH London; Thomas did not describe or mention other specimens. Data from the original in the BMNH: Coast of Miri, NE of Sarawak, collected by Charles Hose 1887. Due to the date of discovery (year, collector), the specimen ZMB 7452, marked as type specimen of Semnopithecus cruciger, could not be a type.
