Anthaxia (Haplanthaxia) dilatipes Obenberger, 1928
Anthaxia dilatipes Obenberger, 1928: 214; Obenberger 1931: 90; Théry 1938: 27 –28. Anthaxia pilosa Théry, 1928a: 186 –187, syn. n.
Anthaxia pilosa Théry, 1928 a was described from one male and 2 females labeled: ”Mosambique”. I have compared the male syntype (MNHN) with the male syntype of A. dilatipes labeled: ”Transvaal” (NMPC) and found no differences. Both Obenberger (1931) and Théry (1938) indicated possible conspecifity of the two species but did not resolve the question. Both descriptions were published in the same year, but Vol. 92 (Abt. A) of the Archiv für Naturgeschichte with Obenberger´s description is dated ” Sept. 28 ” while Vol. 8 of the Bulletin de la Société Scientifique du Maroc with Théry´s paper is dated ” 31 December 1928 ”. In this case I consider A. pilosa to be conspecific with A. dilatipes and a new junior subjective synonym.
