Differentiation between Protallagma titicacae and Protallagma hoffmanni
von Ellenrieder & Garrison (2008: 5) point out that the body of P. titicacae has long setae, as is the case “in numerous Coenagrionidae of colder areas.” This is true for P. hoffmanni as well. Both species share many other common traits, as stated above. Tables 1 and 2 show characteristics that can be used to differentiate between the two Protallagma species.
