Diagnosis.

Both gonopodal coxae and gonocoel medium-sized; telopodite usually less strongly exposed and less complex (when strongly exposed, then with a protective coxal apicolateral process), with 1-2 strong branches (ab or ab and bb); seminal groove short and simple, solenomere shorter or longer, sometimes exposed, subspiniform (Figs 1C, D, E–F, 2A).

Remarks.

This genus is among the more advanced representatives of Afrotropical Trichopolydesmidae . Mauriès and Heymer (1996: 168) regarded it as a subgenus of Sphaeroparia, with Hemisphaeroparia and possibly also Dendrobrachypus and Trichozonus as synonyms of Physetoparia .
