Afrus spegazzinii (Bernhauer, 1915), comb. nov.

Type locality. Senegal, Dakar.

Type material examined. Lectotype (by present designation) ♂: SENEGAL: “ Senegal Dakkar, XII.913 Spegazzini”, “ Spegazzinii, Brnh. Typus ” (FMNH). The specimen is chosen as lectotype and the label: “ Lectotypus Thyreocephalus spegazzinii Bh., Bordoni & Janák des. 2012” was attached to this specimen. Paralectotype ♂: SENEGAL: “Dakkar, Senegal, XII.913 Spegazzini”, “ Spegazzinii, Brnh. Cotypus”(FMNH). The specimen is designated as paralectotype. The label: “ Paralectotypus Thyreocephalus spegazzinii Bh., Bordoni & Janák des. 2012” was attached to this specimen. Both specimens have the determination label “ Afrus spegazzinii (Bh.), Janák & Bordoni det. 2014”.

Redescription. Body length 6.5-7 mm; length from anterior margin of head to posterior margin of elytra: 3.5– 3.7 mm. Head black, pronotum and abdomen reddish brown, elytra light yellow, light brown around scutellum, scutellum, antennae and legs light brown (Fig. 2). Labrum lobate, as in Fig. 10. Head and pronotum with micropunctation. Head and pronotum and related punctation as in Figs. 5, 7, 9. Two postocular punctures situated in slightly elongate fossa. Elytra semimembranous, longer and wider than pronotum, with marked humeral angles. Surface with fine and dense punctation, arranged in numerous series, among which are setiferous series near suture, and median and lateral series. Abdomen shiny with traces of transverse micro-striation and fine, dense punctation, provided by long pubescence.

Male. Tergite 10 and sternite 9 of male genital segment as in Figs. 11, 12. Aedeagus (Fig. 13) relatively large, 1.25 mm long; median lobe protruding, with rounded apex; internal sac narrow, folded on itself, covered with evident scales; parameres short.

Differential diagnosis. Afrus spegazzinii differs from A. collarti in the shorter impression with postocular setiferous punctures behind the eyes, yellowish elytra, smaller body size and apically narrowed median lobe of the aedeagus.

Distribution. The species is distributed in West, Central, East and Southern (Angola) Africa (Fig. 8).
