Pselliodes aff. vagans (Verhoeff, 1905)
Pselliophora vagans Verhoeff, 1905b: 95 –97.
Type locality: Unteres Kongogebiet: Chinchoxo (Tschinschoscho), nördlich der Kongomündung.
Holotype: male, Nos 3893a–e, Prep. Nos 2617–2621, ZMB.
Material examined: 2 specimens “ Pselliophora sp.” J.M. Demange det. 8/69 Africa, Guinea, Nimba 7Cb, Environs base cote Keoulenta, Savane à Andropogon, 5.viii.1951, M. Lamotte leg.
Remarks: The African and Neotropical family Pselliodidae has never been comprehensively revised, and is still a great challenge for taxonomists interested in the systematics of the Scutigeromorpha . Two African morphotypes, P. rugosus (East Africa) and P. vagans (West Africa), can easily be distinguished solely on the basis of their coloration. Our specimens, although badly damaged, are more like the latter, hitherto known from Angola (Chinchoxo; Landana, Enclave de Cabinda), Gabon (Moanda) and Zaire (Eala, Luali, N’Gongo Bata).
