Syntypes locality. United States of America, Colorado. Distribution. United States of America (Arizona, California, Colorado, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Wyoming), Mexico (Chiapas, Chihuahua, Durango, Michoacán [new record], Nuevo León, Oaxaca, Tamaulipas), Honduras.

Remarks. The species of Arhopalus are commonly attracted at light and associated with their host plants, mainly of the genus Pinus L. Arhopalus montanus is distributed from southern Mexico (Chiapas) to northern Mexico (Chihuahua). The new record in Michoacán represents the most central Mexico.
