Distribution. Mauritania, Senegal, Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso, Ghana, Niger, Nigeria (Beier 1930; Gillon & Roy 1968; Prost & Roy 1986; Roy 1962a, 1967, 1968b, 1969, 1970b, 1971a, b, 1975, 1978; Roy & Leston 1975).

Remarks. Widely distributed in the savanna belt of West Africa from Senegal to Nigeria. Recorded from the CNP by Gillon & Roy (1968). Terricolous, preferring sparsely vegetated areas and short grass tufts.
