Type locality. Makongo, Ghana.

Distribution. Ivory Coast, Ghana (Beier 1930; Gillon & Roy 1968; Ragge & Roy 1967; Roy & Leston 1975).

Remarks. In contrast to the more northerly O. longipennis Chopard 1941, which also occurs in Ivory Coast (Roy & Leston 1975), this graminicolous species prefers Guinea savanna.
