Diagnosis. Eridolius is distinguished from all other genera of the Exenterini by the following characters: apical edge of clypeus rounded laterally, truncate or slightly convex medially, not strongly projecting ventrally and squarely truncate so that clypeus is almost pentagonal; subtegular ridge simple, not modified as a vertical lamella that extends close to tegula when tegula closed, without a longitudinal slot in posterior 0.4; hind tibia without a spur-like tooth on anterior side of apex and without a flat, polished area on the apical surface between the tarsal socket and the fringe of setae on the inner edge; T1 with anterolateral angulate projections absent or weak.
