Semenov-Tian-Shansky det. // Differt a diakonovi sculpt. & str eii tergiti abd. a pusillo alis fere limpidis <handwritten by Semenov-Tian-Shanskij>.
Remarks. The collecting date of the specimen was labelled as the 4th of July 1869 and not the 28th of June 1869 as written in the original description. However, Fedtschenko was in Samarkand from the 6th of June 1869 to the 3rd of August 1869 and a lapsus calami could be taken into consideration. This specimen was identified as E. pusillus (Fabricius, 1804) by Radoszkowski and examined by Semenov-Tian-Shanskij on April 1919, therefore we consider it as a possible type according to the Code (ICZN 1999: Article 72.4.1). Kimsey (1986: 107) designated the lectotype in ZIN. Later this specimen was not found in the collection (Kimsey & Bohart 1991; pers. comm.).
Current status. Philoctetes smaragdulus (Semenov, 1932) (transferred to Philoctetes Abeille de Perrin by Kimsey & Bohart 1991: 257).
