Type locality: Uzbekistan: “Habitat in valle Sarafschan et in desertis prope Taschkent”, [This species was collected on the 19th and 27th of May 1869 in the Zaravshan Valley and the 19th May 1871 in steppe between Syr-Darya and Tashkent].

Remarks. Bohart (in Kimsey & Bohart 1991: 473) designated the lectotype. Other paralectotypes are housed in the Radoszkowski collection (ISEA-PAN) (Rosa et al. 2015). Chrysis uljanini belongs to the C. ignita speciesgroup. The male paralectotype housed in ISEA-PAN belongs to a different species Chrysis kizilkumiana Rosa, 2015 (= Chrysis uljanini Radoszkowski sensu Mocsáry, 1889) which was included in the C. cerastes speciesgroup.
