Genus Ischnorhina

Ischnorhina Stål, 1869: 14; Metcalf, 1961: 75; Carvalho, 1993: 172. Type species: Cercopis ephippium Fabricius, 1803: 91, by subsequent designation of Lallemand, 1949: 161.

Generic Diagnosis: The postclypeus is strongly compressed laterally, acutely angled in profile, with slightly marked lateral grooves and a strongly marked lateral ridge. The main feature of the genus is the presence of a swollen process on the dorsal margin of the parameres. The aedeagus is robust, with two pairs of flattened, fin-like processes.

Distribution: Brazil, French Guiana, Bolivia and Ecuador.
