Diagnosis. Body length 560; dorsal shield truncate posteriorly, with approximately 35 pairs of dorsal setae; setae j6 shorter than other mid-dorsal setae, placed close together. Sternal shield entire, not eroded. Anal shield longer than wide. Peritreme reaching level anterior margin of coxa II. Legs moderately short, but legs I longest, being approximately 2/3 length of the body. Host: Messor capitatus (Latreille) .

Remarks. This species is similar to M. michaeli and M. iranicus but can be separated by the short, closely-set mid-dorsal setae j 6 in M. acuminatus (j6 as long as other dorsal setae, and set as far apart as j 5 in the other two species). The host genus of all three species is Messor .
