Notes. Trochosa gunturensis is known from a single taxonomic entry with textual description supported by four illustrations (Patel & Reddy 1993). The size, shape and position of epigynal hoods, size and shape of epigynal median septum, and shape and arrangement of vulva illustrated for T. gunturensis match with that of the Chinese species Trochosa adjacens O. Pickard-Cambridge, 1885, except the difference in the size of the spermatheca, which could be an intraspecific variation, as illustrated for T. hispanica Simon, 1870 (compare Patel & Reddy 1993: fig. 6c–d with Marusik & Nadolny 2020: figs 7, 10C). The somatic colouration of T. gunturensis also is same as described by Pickard-Cambridge (1885) for T. adjacens . All these suggest a possible synonymy of T. gunturensis with T. adjacens, but confirmation requires the examination of type or topotype material of T. gunturensis .We were unable to trace out the types of T. gunturensis in the arachnid collection of ZSI, even though the authors mentioned that the type would be deposited there (Patel & Reddy 1993).
