Simulium (Gomphostilbia) cheongi Takaoka & Davies, 1995: 37 –42 (Female, male, pupa and larva).

This species was described from females, males, pupae and larvae collected from Janda Baik, Pahang (Takaoka and Davies, 1995). It is characterized in the male by the almost entirely yellow antenna and in the pupa by one of the ventral filaments a little less than twice the length of the other seven filaments and stalks of two triplets and the ventral paired filaments arranged in the vertical plane. This species was recorded from Thailand (Takaoka et al., 2009), and Indonesia (Kalimantan and Sumatra) (Takaoka et al., 2000; Takaoka et al., 2017b).

The pupae and larvae of this species are found in small to medium streams at low elevation in many localities in Peninsular Malaysia.
