Simulium (Gomphostilbia) leparense Takaoka, Sofian-Azirun & Ya’cob, in Takaoka et al., 2014g: 518 –522 (Female, male and pupa).
This species was described from females, males and pupae collected from Tekam, Pahang (Takaoka et al., 2014g). It is characterized in the female and male by the scutum covered with dark short hairs, in the male by the presence of paired shiny patches on abdominal segments 2–7, and in the pupa by the lack of grapnel-shaped hooklets on the last abdominal segment.
The pupae were found in small lowland streams in Pahang.
