42. Simulium (Simulium) argentipes Edwards, 1928

Simulium argentipes Edwards, 1928: 62 –63 (Female).

Simulium (Simulium) argentipes: Crosskey, 1973: 425; Takaoka & Davies, 1995: 146–147 (Female).

This speices was described from females collected from Cameron Highlands (Edwards, 1928). The female was redescribed based on the holotype specimen and its genitalia and claw were illustrated (Takaoka and Davies, 1995). The pupae and larvae of this species were collected at Sungai Lemoi near Ulu Jelai Power Station, the district of Cameron Highlands, Pahang (04°24' 37.2"N, 101° 35' 36.5''E) by Ya’cob et al. (unpublished data). The male, pupa and larva of this species will be described in a separate paper.

The pupae and larvae of this species were found in a stream (width 6 m, depth 0.5 m, water temperature 22 °C, open and fast flowing) at an elevation of 499 m in Pahang.
