Simulium (Simulium) bishopi Takaoka & Davies, 1995: 111 –115 (Female, male, pupa and larva).
This species was described from females, males, pupae and larvae collected from Gombak, Selangor (Takaoka and Davies, 1995). It is characterized in the female by the paraproct much produced ventrally and the much widened cercus. The female hind tibia was described as almost blackish but the base of the tibia is white in most females newly collected.
The aquatic stages of this species inhabit small to medium-sized streams at low to high elevations (159–1,813 m) in Cameron Highlands and other areas of Peninsular Malaysia (Ya’cob et al., 2016a, b).
