Simulium (Simulium) yongi Takaoka & Davies, 1997: 11 –16 (Female, male, pupa and larva).
This species was described from females, males, pupae and larvae collected from Cameron Highlands (Takaoka and Davies, 1997). The pupa and larva of this species were wrongly associated with the female of S. pahangense (Takaoka and Davies, 1995) . This species is characterized in the pupa by the cocoon formed of an almost transparent thin membrane and with a large anterodorsal incision.
The pupae and larvae of this species were collected from a cascading stream (elevation ca. 600 m) in Cameron Highlands.
This species was also recorded from Thailand (Kuvangkadilok and Takaoka, 2000).
