6. Amomum longipetiolatum Merr.

(Zingiberaceae) in Lingnan Sci. J. 11(1): 40. 1932. TYPE:— CHINA. Hainan: Hongmao Shan, 15 May 1929, W. T. Tsang, Tang & H. Fung 161 (i.e. Lingnan University Herbarium 17692) (holotype: NY 00320199 image!).

The name Amomum longipetiolatum Merr. was validly published with a gathering “ Tsang, Tang and Fung 17692 ” in NY designated as the type (Merrill, 1932). However, the collecting number on the lable of the holotype specimen is 161, while its herbarium number is Lingnan University Herbarium 17692. Therefore, the erroneous collecting number in the designation of type is to be corrected.
