(Clusiaceae) in Philipp. J. Sci. 23(3): 254. 1923. TYPE:— CHINA. Hainan: Wuzhishan, Wuzhi Shan, alt. 700 m, 20 December 1921, F. A. McClure 2116 (i.e. Canton Christian College Herbarium 8701) (syntype: PNH, destroyed, A 00067669 image!).

McClure 8701 was the only gathering cited in the protologue of the name Garcinia oligantha Merr. (Merrill, 1923) . However, the collecting number on the label of the syntype specimen exists in A is 2116, while its herbarium number is Canton Christian College Herbarium 8701. Thus, the collecting number cited in the protologue is to be corrected.
