Type species: Dikraneura pellucida Osborn, 1928

The genus may be separated from other Alebrini by the following combination of features: forewing appendix not extended around apical margin, all apical cells much longer than broad, parallel-sided, and angular basally, with bases (except first) alligned; hind wing with submarginal vein distinct, free from apical margin and confluent with RP; vein CuP confluent with submarginal vein near midlength of wing, much basad of vein m-cu; male style sigmoid in lateral aspect; aedeagus shaft with one or two pairs of apical or anteapical processes; sternal abdominal apodemes slender and elongate, usually capitate apically, traversing one or two abdominal conjunctivae (Young 1957b).
