Redefinition of Gymnotocinclus

The genus Gymnotocinclus can be distinguished from all other genera of Otothyrini by the combination of two characters: (1) absence of dermal plates on snout tip, Fig. 3; (2) maxillary barbel adnate to the lower lip (a character also present in species of Corumbataia).
