Munidopsis spinifer (A. Milne-Edwards, 1880)

Munidopsis spinifer has been previously reported as Galathodes spinifer (see Baba et al. 2008) with a distributional range from the Caribbean to the Gulf of Mexico in depths of 329 to 741 m (Milne-Edwards 1880; Chace 1942; Rice & Miller 1991). Five specimens were measured but only one female was ovigerous (CW = 5.8 mm). All specimens were collected in the Caribbean and the Gulf of Mexico in depths of 415 to 741 m.
