The “ epicalus group” is composed of six species recognized by the following characters: ground color yellowish in males and dark brown with purple reflections in females; uncus long, with same size or longer than tegumen; costa of the valva covered by small spines on internal margin; valva with dorso–distal margin in a triangular process, similar as a spine; valva with distal margin rounded and serrated; aedeagus slightly sinuous laterally; lamella anteveginalis triangular, twive as long as wide; dusctus bursae dilatated and striated near corpus bursae.
