Xiruana fiebrigi new species

Type material. Female holotype from Jardín Botánico, Assunción (25°16’55.91”S; 57°38’6.36”W), Paraguay, K. Fiebrig leg., deposited in ZMB 3748.

Etymology. The specific name is a patronymic in honor of the collector of the holotype. Diagnosis. Females of Xiruana fiebrigi n. sp. resemble those of X. gracilipes and X. cocha n. sp. by the epigynal plate with a triangular posterior border, but differs by the lack of a furrow along the anterior border and by the seminal receptacles inserted near the spermathecae (Figs 13 C–D).

Description. Female (ZMB 3748). Coloration as in X. hirsuta . Total length 11.6, carapace length 4.1, width 3.3. Clypeus height 0.16. Eye diameters and interdistances: AME 0.16, ALE 0.16, PME 0.16, PLE 0.16; AME– AME 0.04, AME–ALE 0.06, PME–PME 0.24, PME–PLE 0.24, ALE–PLE 0.06. Chelicerae 2.2 long, with five promarginal teeth and five retromarginal denticles. Leg measurements: Leg I—femur 3.9/ patella 1.8/ tibia 4.1/ metatarsus 3.4/ tarsus 1.9/ total 15.1; II—3.7/ 1.6/ 3.5/ 3.1/ 1.2/ 13.1; III—2.9/ 1.2/ 2.0/ 2.4/ 0.9/ 9.4; IV—4.0/ 1.5/ 3.4/ 4.7/ 1.2/ 14.8. Leg spination: I—tibia v2-2 -0, p0, r0, metatarsus v2 -0-0, p0, r0; II—tibia v1-2 -0, p0-0-1, r0, metatarsus v2 -0-0, p0, r0; III—p1-0-1, r1-0-1; IV—tibia p1-1-1, r1-1-1. Abdomen: length 7.5, epigastric furrow 1.3 from tracheal spiracle, spiracle 4.3 from base of spinnerets. Epigynum: copulatory ducts curved anteriorly; fertilization ducts longer than spermathecae width (Figs 13 C–D).

Male. Unknown.

Other material examined. PARAGUAY. Asunción: (25°16'55.91"S; 57°38' 6.36W), Jardín Botánico, 1♀, K. Fiebrig leg. (ZMB 3748).

Distribution. Known only from Assunción, Paraguay (Fig. 16 B).
