Chonocephalus bentacasei (Santos Abreu) . Santos Abreu & Schmitz, 1934: 69.

Santos Abreu & Schmitz (1934) reported that the type had been lost. The discovery of two males in the University of Guelph Insect Collections has allowed the designation of a NEOTYPE.

Holotype male, Canary Islands, La Palma (lost); Neotype male, Tenerife, Puerto de la Cruz, 7 January 1974, J. R. Vockeroth (DEBU ­ 14­53); 1 male as neotype. 1 male, La Palma, Parque National de la Caldera de Taburiente Barraco de las Traves, 1068m UTH, 28 RBS 4780 YT4, 10 August 1999, T. Domingo­Quero (Museo Nacional de Ciencias Naturales, Madrid).
