Xanthocanace zeylanica Delfinado, 1975

Xanthocanace zeylanica Delfinado, 1975: 223 [Sri Lanka. Northwestern Province: Puttalan; HT ♂, MZLU].

Distribution. Afrotropical: Oman. Oriental: Sri Lanka.

Remarks. Munari (2010) recorded X. zeylanica from Oman (Muscat, Bandar al Jissah) based on a single female specimen. This species is distinguished from congeners mainly by the following combination of external characters: small species, body length 2.00 mm or less; mesofrons of male and female thinly microtomentose, appearing subshiny; mesofrons of male with lateral margins slightly emarginated; setulae of mesofrons abundant, conspicuous; mesonotum more thinly microtomentose than mesonotum of X. sabroskyi, appearing very slightly subshiny, sometimes with faint, metallic, light bluish grey luster; midfemur of male simple, lacking posteroventral comb of spines on distal half; tibiae yellowish.
