Measurement: Length: 2.3-7.9 cm, Breadth: 1.0-3.0 cm

Remarks: A very widespread species of estuaries and mud flats. Live shells are available, deaths and empty shells are sometimes found occupied by hermit crabs.

Distribution: Andhra Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands; Gujarat, Kerala; Pondicherry, Orissa, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal.
