Euscelophilus gibbicollis (Schilsky): Voss 1925: 30. Euscelophilus hidakai Liang, 1994: 493 (syn. Legalov 2007: 292).

Material examined. Holotype female (of E. hidakai): CHINA: Yunnan Province (Yongshan County, Sanjiangkou, alt. 1700m), 2-July-1991, Xing-Cai Liang and Su Lin Coll. (KIZ); 6 paratype females (of E. hidakai): CHINA: Yunnan Province (Yunlong County, alt. 1700m), 23-May-1991, Xing-Cai Liang Coll. (KIZ); 10 males, 10 females: CHINA: Yunnan Province (Yongshan County, Sanjiangkou, alt. 1700m), 24-Auguest- 2004, Ning-Nian Xiao and Deng-Bao Han Coll. (KIZ, No.2004A-E13).

Distribution. P. R. China: Beijing, Hebei, Hubei, Yunnan (Yunlong County and Yongshan County), Sichuan, Guizhou; Korea.

Notes. Legalov (2007) recently synonymised E. hidakai with E. gibbicollis, which are indeed very similar from their descriptions (Schilsky 1906, Liang 1994). However, the former was described only from females and we have not seen the types of the latter to be able to confirm this synonymy. Since we now have found males clearly attributable to E. hidakai, we here illustrate the male genitalia of this species (figs. 7A–D).
