Biology. Sarcophaga impatiens has been bred from rotten meat and sheep's liver (Johnston & Tiegs 1921) and collected at decayed-carrion baits by KAM. Larval development of S. impatiens was investigated by Roberts (1976). This species has also been recorded by JFW in forensic cases in Australia.
Taxonomy. All three larval instars were described by Cantrell (1981; referred to as Tricholioproctia impatiens). DNA barcode sequences of S. impatiens have been deposited in both GenBank and BOLD.
