Identification. Based on original description by Grouvelle (1913).
Diagnosis. This species closely resembles Cucujus haematodes Erichson, 1845, but the pronotum is wider than head in this species (narrower than head in C. haematodes) and the median lobe of aedeagus is without a setose sclerite (present in C. haematodes).
Distribution. China (Xizang Autonomous Region); India (Arunachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh).
