Genus Clypeuspinus Balkenohl, 2021

Type species: Clypeuspinus validus (Andrewes, 1936): 202.

Revised generic characteristics. Size 4.81–6.38 mm. Head elongated, eyes normal, embedded anterior genae; antennae reaching up to middle of pronotum, moniliform from fourth antennomere onwards, scapus attached to pedicellus eccentrically; labrum three or five setose; clypeus straight, margin not bordered, wings extending forward; mentum with median tooth projecting as far as lateral lobes; genae as long as eyes; mandibles elongate and arcuate. Pronotum pentagonal, glabrous and glossy, reflexed lateral margins complete, front angles produced, hind angles dentate, median line and anterior transverse line well impressed. Elytra: third interval with two to four setigerous punctures, eighth interval carinate from humerus to apex. Hind wings well developed. Mesotibiae with a long protuberance preapically furnished with seta. In both sexes tarsomeres not widened. Coxostylus one and two nearly completely fused, cone-like seta absent. Median lobe well curved, pointed towards apex; parameres asymmetric, bisetose at apex.
