Brachytydeus podocarpa (Baker, 1968)

Female (n = 2). Dimensions: length of idiosoma 170 195 (170–220) and width 132 143 (132–153).
Dorsum (Fig. 2 A)—Prodorsum recurved, 11 pairs of short, club-shaped dorsal setae, trichobothrium whip-like, smooth, longer than dorsal setae. Setal measurements as follows: ro 10 13 (10–15), la 10 14 (10–18), bo 30 32 (30–33), ex 10 13 (10–15), c 1 10 12 (10–13), c 2 10 13 (10–15), d 1 10 13 (10–15), e 1 10 12 (10–14), f 1 11 12 (11–13), f 2 11 12 (11–13), h 1 12 13 (12–14), h 2 12 13 (12–14), ps 1 10 10 (10) on ventral side and ps2 not visible. Dorsal reticulation forms discrete areas divided by striae.
Venter —Anogenital area not visible. Epimeral formula: 3-1-4-2.
Gnathosoma (Fig. 2 B)—Setal pattern of palp (tarsus –genu): 5-2-2, tarsus with seta p' ζ not T-shaped distally, d smooth. Cheliceral stilettos length 8 11 (8–13); length of palp 38 43 (38–48).
Legs (Fig. 2 C)—Length of legs I–IV as follows: leg I 75 103 (75–130), leg II 60 73 (60–85), leg III 70 83 (70–95) and leg IV 75 94 (75–113). All legs with two claws and a hairy empodium, empodial hooks absent. Solenidion (ωI) on tarsus I slender, longer than half width of tarsus. Tarsus I with ft' shorter than ft''. Leg setal formulae as follows (tarsus–trochanter): Leg I: 8 (1ω)-3-3-3-1; Leg II: 6(1ω)-2-2-3-0; Leg III: 5-2-1-2-1; Leg IV: 5-2-1-1-0.
Male: Not found.
Material examined. Brazil: One female collected from Bordeaux variety ( Vitis labrusca), Boqueirão do Leão County, State of Rio Grande do Sul, 08/I/2007, coll. Horn, T.B. One female from same data except 16/III/2006. Deposited at Museu de Ciências Naturais, UNIVATES - Centro Universitário, Lajeado, Rio Grande do Sul State, Brazil.
Distribution. This is the first record of this species from the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Baker (1968) reported this species on Podocarpus usambarensis Pilger from Democratic Republic of Congo.
