Type:— CHINA. Guangdong: Lo Fan Shan, 16 August 1883, C. Ford 145 (holotype: K-000872757!) .

Additional specimens examined:— TAIWAN. Pingtung: Liuqiu Township, Mt. Liuchiuiu, ca. 80 m, 1 May 2020, Hsu 12709 (TAIF!) .

Note:— Vincetoxicum fordii was originally reported from southern mainland China (Li et al. 1995) and is newly recorded in Taiwan. This species is morphologically similar to V. chinense (Fig. 1C) but could be readily distinguished by its 2-linedpubescent stems (vs. uniformly densely pubescent) and also by its yellowish-white (vs. purple or at least purplish around the throat) corolla (Fig. 1D).
