Characterization. Shell globose; H 1.54 mm, W 1.21 mm; protoconch low, 1.4 whorl, DP 0.63 mm; nucleus small, DN 0.19 mm; teleoconch strongly sculpted with punctuated spiral grooves forming a reticulate network; aperture wide; umbilicus narrow.
Distribution. Off the coast of Narrabeen and Babel Island, New South Wales, Australia, 119–146 m (Iredale 1925). Pleistocene of Moeshima, Japan (Habe 1952). Japan Sea and South China Sea, 50–200 m (Hori 2000). New Caledonia, Tonga, Vanuatu and Wallis and Futuna, 182–675 m, live 482–498 m (Valdés 2008). Mactan Island, Philippines, 110 m (Willan & Tagaro 2010).
Remarks. Obrussena moeshimaensis Habe, 1952 was synonymized with Obrussena bracteata (Iredale, 1925) by Valdés (2008), because of the former species being small specimens of the latter species.
