Notes: Chavarría (1941) stated that this species is common from southern Morelos to southern Mexico. Ornithodoros nicollei has been collected from peasant houses, caves, humans, dogs, squirrels, Hodomys alleni, and Neotoma sp. in the states of Morelos, Coahuila, Colima, Durango, Guerrero, Jalisco, Michoacán, Morelos, Oaxaca, and Puebla (Hoffmann & López-Campos 2000).
