Lamyctes pius Chamberlin, 1911
Lamyctes pius Chamberlin 1911a: 33; Mercurio 2010: 41 (complete references)
Originally described as a subspecies of L. tivius; North Carolina, Georgia, New Jersey, New York, Wisconsin, Virginia and Pennsylvania. Very similar to L. tivius, but supposed by Chamberlin (1911) to be more reddish or often darker in coloration, and larger at 7.5–9.5 mm. Antennae with 28 or 29 articles, coxosternal teeth 3+3, coxal pores 2, 3, 3, 3 (Chamberlin 1912). Specimens I have examined were uniformly yellow or pale orange, the color perhaps having faded after long preservation; many were more than a century old. Type specimens are in the MCZ.
