Material examined. MBC-A 022216.

Identification. Test small, sub-globular. Tubercles perforate and crenulate. Primary spines slender, brittle, hollow, or with a partially-filled core, serrated. Peristome encircled by club-shaped spines, and buccal plates. Preserved specimen light brown to purplish with white spines.

Global maximum size. Maximum test diameter 16 mm.

Global distribution. Endemic to South coast of South Africa, at 720–820 m depth (Mortensen, 1939; Clark & Courtman-Stock 1976).

Remarks. Represented by just one specimen (MBC-A 022216) in the Iziko collection.
