Genus Paramblopusa Ahn & Ashe, 1996
[Japanese name: Nise-nokoba-umi-hanekakushi-zoku]
Paramblopusa Ahn & Ashe, 1996a: 148 (original description; type species: Amblopusa borealis Casey, 1906).
Diagnosis. This genus can be easily distinguished from other Japanese liparocephaline genera by the 3-segmented labial palpus in which segment II is thinner than I (Fig. 22C).
Remarks. Paramblopusa eoa Ahn & Maruyama was described from Kuril Islands, Russia. In Schülke & Smetana (2015), its distribution range includes Hokkaido, Japan. However, the source of the Japanese record remains unknown, and it was conspicuously absent in a current record of this species by Ahn et al. (2020). Furthermore, despite our extensive survey of Hokkaidô, this species has never been encountered, and we suspect it as an erroneous distributional record.
Distribution. Japan: Hokkaidô; Russia (Kuril Islands); Canada; USA.
