Comments. In Brazil, F. condei John has been recorded as a pest of nectarine, orange, murcote and cut flowers in southern and southeastern Brazil (Monteiro et al. 2001). However, the specimens involved, that were also used in producing a key to Frankliniella species (Monteiro et al. 2001), are deposited in ESALQ/USP, and reexamination of these has revealed that they are misidentified F. musaeperda . As a result, F. condei remains known only from the type material, as pointed out by Cavalleri and Mound (2012), and should not be considered a pest. F. musaeperda is also known as a minor pest of banana in Central America.
