Diagnosis. Coloration [adapted from Gauld (2000)]. Yellow with black marks; few species are predominantly black. Fore wings: 3.8 to 9. 7 mm. Head. Mandibles not twisted with a conspicuous ventral edge, with upper tooth longer and wider than the lower tooth. Mesosoma. Mesoscutum with notaulus printed and punctures concentrated on anterior and posterior parts, smooth or punctate scutellum; metapleuron smooth or stippled, pleural carina present; propodeum smooth, coriaceous, rugose or striate, with anterior and posterior carina present, usually complete; posterior femur with a ventral tooth; fore wings with or without the presence of the 3 rs -m vein. Metasoma. Laterotergite II without presence of thyridium; female with ovipositor apex straight or sinuous (Gauld 2000).
