Diagnosis. Among the species of this species-group, E. vitticolle differs from E. laphygmae Costa Lima, 1953 (morphologically similar, and species also present in Colombia) by the completely yellow mesopleuron in E. vitticolle and with black marks on the mesopleuron in E. laphygmae .

Distribution. Belize, Bolivia, Brazil (Amazonas, Pará, Rio de Janeiro, and São Paulo), Colombia (Antioquia), Costa Rica, Cuba, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Nicaragua, Peru, Puerto Rico, U.S.A. (introduced into Texas) and Venezuela (Yu et al., 2016, Fernandes et al., 2023).
