Type species: Paradelius ghesquierei de Saeger, 1942 (original designation).
Diagnosis. Antenna of female slender submedially, with 20–22 antennomeres (Figs 1A, 3A); maxillary palp with 3–5 palpomeres (3 in type species); clypeus almost as wide as face (Figs 1B, 3B); eyes setose (Figs 1B, 3B); prepectal carina present (Figs 1D, 3D); sternaulus mostly impressed (Figs 1D, 3D), rarely indistinct; dorsal areola of propodeum wide mostly without medial transverse carina (Fig. 1F), rarely with indistinct transverse carina (Fig. 3F); vein 1-SR of fore wing absent (Figs 2C, 4C); first and second metasomal tergites largely longitudinally sculptured (Figs 2B, 4B), rarely second tergite smooth; first and second metasomal sutures distinct and crenulate (second metasomal suture indistinct in P. ussuriensis) (Figs 2B, 4B).
Distribution. Afrotropical, East Palaearctic and Oriental regions.
