TYPE LOCALITY: " Nepal " (Probably Tibetan Plateau) .

DISTRIBUTION: Wooded slopes of Himalayas in India, Nepal, Bhutan, Sikkim, S. Tibet, C. andS.E. China (SW).

COMMENT: Formerly included berezovskii; see Groves, 1975, J. Bombay Nat. Hist. Soc., 72:662-682. Regarded as separate species by Cai and Feng, 1981, Acta Zootax. Sin., 6: 106-110. According to PG, chrysogaster is the prior name for sifanicus (see below), and the next available name for this species is leucogaster Hodgson, 1839 .
