Previous records. Karabaġ, 1958: Kırklareli, Süloġlu-Saksaġandere (this location is in Edirne province, not in Kırklareli), 30.7.1956, 2 males, 2 females (leg. E. Can); Karabaġ, 1964: the same material given in Karabaġ (1958) was used and identified as a new record for Turkey; Karabaġ et al., 1974: Ïstanbul, Çatalca, Karacaköy Meşeliġi, 25.6.1970, 1 male (leg. Karabaġ et al.).
Material examined. Ïstanbul, Çatalca, Karacaköy Meşeliġi, 25.6.1970, 1 male (label note: it was a nymph and matured on 21.7. 1970 in laboratory) (ABKM).
Distribution. Austria, Hungary, Slovakia, Poland, former Yugoslavia, Albania, Macedonia, Romania, Bulgaria as E. ephippiger ephipiger (Harz, 1969); Macedonia, Balkan countries as E. ephippiger (Ramme, 1951); from the Pyrenees eastward to south Russia, Greece and Italy; Spain, Andorra, France, former Czechoslovakia, former Yugoslavia, Greece, Italy (Heller, 1988); Greece (Willemse, 1984, Willemse & Willemse, 2008); former European USSR (Tarbinsky, 1948; Bey-Bienko, 1964; Mistshenko, 1972); from Iberian Peninsula to S. Russia and from Germany to Greece and European Turkey (Heller et al., 1998). It is known from Edirne, Kırklareli and Ïstanbul provinces in Turkey (Karabaġ, 1964; Karabaġ et al., 1974) (Fig. 118).
Remarks. This well known species could not be found during the recent field studies in European Turkey. But several nymphs had been collected in an expedition took place by P. Naskrecki and the author in 1993 from Kırklareli Province, Demirköy, 650 m, 12.7.1993, 2 females nymphs (leg. P. Naskrecki & M. Ünal).
