Wing whitish subhyaline, variegated with dark brown; costal and subcostal cells pale brown; stigma dark brown; dark brown marking along fork of Rs to cross vein r -m; whitish area forming a large C-shaped marking at bases of cells r 1+2, r 3, r 4, r 5, d and m 3; whitish spots at base of Rs and apex of bm; an oblique whitish marking at base of veins R, M, CuA and CuP (Fig. 42). Halter with stem yellow, knob pale yellow to dark brown.

Hypopygium. Posterior margin of tergite 9 divided into two setose lobes; inner margin of each lobe bears two sclerotized protrusions which have foot-like inner protrusion and finger-like outer protrusion (Fig. 44). Tergite 9 and sternite 9 fused into a continuous ring (Fig. 43). Gonocoxite elongated into a horn-like lobe which has up-turned apex (Figs 43, 45). Apex of sternite 9 with setose foot-like protrusions (Fig. 45). Adminiculum with pointed apex (Fig. 45). Lobe of gonostylus rod-shaped and setose (Fig. 46). Clasper of gonostylus approximately triangular; beak obtuse; a semicircular basal lobe produced with staggered setae; sclerotized groove bears numerous long bristles along concavity; dorsal crest with numerous long bristles (Fig. 46).

Semen pump. Brown. Posterior immovable apodeme (pia) rod-shaped and directed backward (Figs 47–49); compressor apodeme (ca) large, fan-shaped, directed downwards, forming a 50° angle with posterior immovable apodeme (Fig. 49); anterior immovable apodeme (aia) triangular, point-apexed, narrower than compressor apodeme (Figs 47, 48).

Distribution. China (Shaanxi, Sichuan).

Etymology. The species is named “ shaanxiana ” after the type locality Shaanxi.

Remarks. This new species is similar to T. (V.) adungensis Alexander, 1963 in the shape of tergite 9, lobe and clasper of gonostylus. It can be separated from the latter by following features: posterior margin of tergite 9 with a broad notch; posterior margin of tergite 9 with four protrusions; clasper of gonostylus with an obtuse beak., the posterior margin of tergite 9 has a narrow notch in T. (V.) adungensis; the posterior margin of tergite 9 has two protrusions; the clasper of gonostylus has a sharp beak (Alexander, 1963).
