Type species. Vannoortia capensis Olmi 2007, by monotypy and original designation
Diagnosis. ♀: unknown. ♂ (Figs 263A, B): fully winged; forewing with C, R and 1Cu cells completely enclosed by pigmented veins; palpal formula 6/3; antenna very long, slightly longer than body; mandible with four irregular teeth; occipital carina complete; temple very long, shorter than eye (Fig. 263B); minimum distance between eye and occipital carina approximately as long as OOL (Fig. 263A); epicnemium exposed; mesosternum distinct (Fig. 264A); notauli complete; paramere without inner slender membranous process (Fig. 264B); tibial spurs 1/1/2.
Distribution. Afrotropical region.
Hosts. Unknown.
World species. One species is known, present in the Afrotropical region.
Remarks. The ♂ of Vannoortia shares the absence of an inner slender process of the parameres and complete notauli with Madecadryinus, but these two genera can be easily separated by the shape of the head (occiput very excavated and minimum distance between eyes and occipital carina much shorter than OOL in Madecadryinus; occiput less excavated and minimum distance between eyes and occipital carina approximately as long as OOL in Vannoortia).
