Description. ♀ (Figs 16C, D). Fully winged; body length 1.0– 1.7 mm. Head black, except mandible testaceous and clypeus occasionally uniformly brown; antenna testaceous-brown, except scape, pedicel and occasionally most part of flagellomere 1 yellow; mesosoma black; metasoma brown; legs yellow, except last tarsomere darkened. Antenna clavate; antennomeres of paratype from Yemen, Al Lahima, in following proportions: 4:4:5:6:6.5:5.5:5:4.5:4.5:8; antennomeres of specimen from Madagascar, 12°30.52’S 49°10.53’E, in following proportions: 4:4:4:5:5.5:5.5:5:5:4.5:7. Head dull, granulate; frontal line absent; anterior half of frons with narrow median longitudinal furrow; occipital carina complete; paratype from Yemen, Al Lahima, with POL = 6; OL = 3.5; OOL = 2.5; OPL = 2; TL = 2; specimen from Madagascar, 12°30.52’S 49°10.53’E, with POL = 5; OL = 3; OOL = 2; OPL = 1; TL = 1; greatest breadth of lateral ocelli as long as OOL. Mesoscutum dull, granulate. Notauli short, slightly visible near anterior margin of mesoscutum. Mesoscutellum and metanotum dull, granulate. Metapectal-propodeal disc reticulate rugose; propodeal declivity with two longitudinal keels, median area granulate and lateral areas reticulate rugose. Forewing hyaline, without dark transverse bands; in many specimens from Madagascar forewing with one more or less distinct dark spot around 2r-rs&Rs vein; 2r-rs&Rs vein regularly curved. Tibial spurs 1/1/2.

♂ (Figs 16A, B). Fully winged; body length 1.3–1.9 mm. Head black, except mandible testaceous and clyp- eus occasionally uniformly brown; antenna testaceous-brown, except scape, pedicel and occasionally most part of flagellomere 1 yellow; mesosoma black; metasoma brown; legs yellow, except last tarsomere darkened. In two specimens from Madagascar, 23°31.39’S 44°09.16’E, legs yellow, except metacoxa partly darkened. Antenna filiform; antennomeres of holotype in following proportions: 3:4:4:4:5.5:6:6:5.5:6:8; antennomeres of specimen from Cameroon, Messa Bengondo, in following proportions: 4:4.5:5:5:6.5:8:8:7:7:10; antennomeres of specimen from Madagascar, 12°30.52’S 49°10.53’E, in following proportions: 3.5:3.5:4:4.5:5.5:7:7:6.5:6:9.5. Head dull, granulate; frontal line absent; occipital carina complete; holotype with POL = 6; OL = 4; OOL = 2.5; OPL = 2; TL = 2; specimen from Cameroon, Messa Bengondo, with POL = 6; OL = 4; OOL = 2; OPL = 2; TL = 2; greatest breadth of lateral ocelli longer than OOL (3:2). Mesoscutum dull, granulate. Notauli short, slightly visible near anterior margin of mesoscutum. In specimen from Madagascar, 12°15.46’S 49°23.51’E, 13–16.V.2001, notauli reaching about 0.3 × length of mesoscutum. In specimens from Madagascar, 12°30.52’S 49°10.53’E, one of two notauli reaching about 0.5 × length of mesoscutum. In specimen from South Africa, 29°56.086’S 29°26.721’E, notauli reaching about 0.6 × length of mesoscutum. Mesoscutellum and metanotum dull, granulate. Metapectal-propodeal disc reticulate rugose; propodeal declivity with two longitudinal keels, median area granulate and lateral areas reticulate rugose. Forewing hyaline, without dark transverse bands (in all specimens from Yemen); in many specimens from Madagascar forewing with one more or less distinct dark spot around 2r-rs&Rs vein; 2r-rs&Rs vein regularly curved. Basivolsella with 1–2 distal bristles situated laterally on area fused with paramere (Figs 12C, D); distivolsella more or less long (Figs 12C, D) (figure 1 in Olmi & van Harten 2006 wrong). Tibial spurs 1/1/2.

Remarks. Aphelopus incisus Olmi, 1984, is here considered a senior synonym of A. himyarita Olmi & van Harten, 2006, because the length of the notauli is highly variable (previously the two species were separated only by differences in the length of the notauli), and the ♂ genitalia are alike.
